Bride of Boring Pictures

In any large collection, there are good items and some that aren't so hot. Today I am doing a bit of hard drive cleanup, and decided I might as well finally post these so-so scans. Sorry, homies!

Well, actually, this one isn't so bad. It shows a swell selection of posters in front of Main Street Station, including one of my favorites (the 20K poster). I never did get a Dumbo poster, for some reason it just didn't tickle my fancy. And I never see them available anymore! D'oh.

A typical Skyway view, only boring. You know what wouldn't be boring? Becoming the first person to successfully jump from your bucket into the lagoon! LET'S DO IT! What's the worst that could happen?

Now it's February 1960, and Zombie Baby is hungry for swan flesh (I'm not 100% sure that swans have brains, which is why I didn't say swan brains). Go git 'em, junior!

Disney parks are famous for their roller coaster "mountains", and it all began with this one. I'm not even going to insult you by saying the name: you already know it! Hey, why not a coaster that goes around (and inside) a volcano? Perfect for Adventureland! Too bad they don't have room for it.

No problem Major I am easily amused. :) Happen to like that Matterhorn pic, a bit "empty" but full of matter.

Cute tyke alert by the Castle huh?

For some reason I didn't realize quite how wide that dock area is beside the boarding dock for the subs. Grief that's a lot of pool to sweep. Which can't be swept actually, which probably contributed to the huge challenges they faced making that giant "Sea" sufficiently clean. One doesn't think of all that they had to have worked on particularly in the early years, you just slip on a nice gray sub and go for a dip.

I enjoy ALL your pics, Major and these are no exception!

Tokyo DisneySea has the Volcano with speeding vehicles ride (Journey To The Center Of The Earth.) It isn't a roller coaster, but it uses EPCOT's Test Track ride system and it's a gazillion times more enjoyable than Test Track!

P.S. Tokyo DisneySea's volcano can be seen here in one of my old posts (Link)

Flying elephants, zombie babies, volcano coasters, fun for the whole family.

That Dumbo poster makes my skin crawl.

I understand you not having the Dumbo poster - on many levels.

As far as jumping from the Skyway into the lagoon - I'm surprised no one tried that, a couple of folks tried leaping in front of the PeopleMover. You might actually survive the jump from the bucket however, depends on where in the lagoon you land I guess - watch out for mermaids!

ps. all vintage Disneyland posts are good.

TokyoMagic, that must be some ride coz we absolutely LOVE Test Track! hope to get there one of these days ;)

as for boring, i must disagree with you Major. not as exciting as others, maybe, but never boring. and you can NEVER go wrong with posters, even the ones that arent the favorites!

what is (was) the large white structure we see in the Tomorrowland area in pic number three with our swans in the castle moat?

Remember when one bozo "fell" from a skyway bucket into the tree in front of Alice in Wonderland?

He tried to sue...but fortunately another guest actually caught the guy on tape unlatching the bucket door!

Rich T, I had not heard about that guy, but I'm glad they caught him! I'm trying to imagine that fall, and it still seems like a pretty dangerous stunt.

Nancy, I know that the white structure is the roof of some Tomorrowland building, and have seen it in numerous photos, but I've never bothered to figure out exactly WHICH building it belonged to!
