Main Street

I just love this early view of Main Street. I'm guessing it's a morning shot? The colors on the various buildings are wonderful. This was another undated slide, but look at those boys in the foreground with their greased back hair a la Elvis Presley. It seems to be a pretty safe bet that this is from the 50's. As always, any observations from you (the knowledgeable viewer!) are encouraged.

Tikis

This post is an addendum to the wonderful photos on the "Stuff from the Park" blog...I am guessing that this is another picture of Tikis, although apparently half of the building has lost its thatched roof (the slide is undated but seems to be from the mid-to-late 60's). As Matterhorn1959 said, this souvenir stand definitely specialized in hats of all shapes and sizes.

Upjohn

Here is a fun photo of what I believe to be the interior of the Emporium, circa 1958. Where are all the plush toys, antenna toppers, magnets, pins, and lightup thingamajiggers? The small boy is entranced by a classic Japanese toy robot (how much would that be worth today?), while the man to the left is purchasing some sort of Mickey Mouse toy. There is a sign on the wall that says "The Upjohn Company something something", does anybody know the full text?

Notice the boy's squeaky Donald Duck hat...I have one just like it from my childhood. There is another picture of the kid wearing it on a swingset, possibly from the next day?
